Ladies Get Loud

Story

Lisa and Moana are getting LOUD for Loud Shirt Day 2011.

All money raised from Loud Shirt Day will help to give the gift of sound and speech to deaf Australian children.

As you all may know by now we have both been very busy over the last couple of months encouraging people to host a Loud Shirt Day - in light of this we both thought if we are asking others to host a Loud Shirt Day we should get behind the day ourselves and host our own event and lead the way in fundraising!!

Instead of making it just a one day event we have decided for the week leading up to Loud Shirt Day we will be wearing Loud outfits for 5 consecutive days.

To launch our fundraising page we are asking for suggestions on where you would like us to appear in our LOUD outfits – this will all obviously come at a price.  Please send in your suggestions and get behind us as we wear our support for The Shepherd Centre and get LOUD!

The Shepherd Centre (NSW & ACT)

The Shepherd Centre helps children who are deaf or hearing impaired to learn how to listen and speak. Founded in 1970, with just five families, The Shepherd Centre now helps over 220 families in our five centres across NSW and the ACT. The organisation is recognised as a leader in the field of Auditory-Verbal Therapy, providing assistance to parents of children who are deaf and hearing impaired to develop spoken language, so that they can reach their full potential and be a fully contributing member of the community. The Shepherd Centre has assisted over 1,500 children and their families over the last 40 years. Ninety per cent of children graduate from The Shepherd Centre and enter mainstream schooling and the vast majority have age-appropriate speech and language. Support from the individuals and businesses in the community provides almost 75% of the much needed funds to provide these life-changing programs.
